Automatic- convert to xvid while removing commercials

is there an automated way to covert to xvid and remove commercials on a schedule..IE from 3am-10am it will process as many files as it can..convert them and delete the old ones.

Will these files still showup on the frontend as recorded tv or will they have to be moved to a "video" archive?

did you ever figure this out. I am trying to do the exact same thing. Unfortunately its hard to find a deffinitive how-to guide for these types of things.
