Is it possible to run comskip and comclean on an existing mpeg files recorded using GB-PVR that has commercials? I just recently added the comskip and comclean on my GB-PVR directory and was amazed on their capability. Now I wanted to convert my existing mpeg files that has commercials. Is this possible?

Greg

Yes. One way would be to create a shortcut on your desktop for the GB-PVR's PostProcessing.bat (assuming you have comskip and comclean setup in there) and then you drag the non processed MPGs onto the PostProcessing.bat.

OKay I did this and it gave me 2 different logs. Now how do I use the COMCLEAN? I was asuming that there's going to be a new mpeg file after I drag the existing mpeg to the postprocessing.bat.

If you have the postprocessing.bat setup correctly, it should comskip a file and then comclean a file. That means of course, comclean will perform as instructed, creating a temp file with the commercials, and then rename the original (or deleting it) and rename the temp file to be the original's filename.

That means that if it works automatically (when run from gb-pvr after recording) it will do the same manually.

This is what I have inside my postprocessing.bat

Comskip.exe %1
Call Comclean %1 >>Comclean.log 2>>Comclean.err
RenameRecording.exe -t %1 > rename.log

I do not see any mistakes, but I do not use renamerecording so I don't know about that

Yes, erik's right, it looks good. I would suggest that renamerecording might not work well in this case though. Try 'remming' out the recordings...

You might also want to add these lines to the postprocessing.bat...

(this assumes that your gbpvr directory is the default: C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr)

Code:
c:
cd\
cd "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr"

Comskip.exe %1
Call Comclean %1 >>Comclean.log 2>>Comclean.err

rem RenameRecording.exe -t %1 > rename.log
