I have may troubles with LivePreview in VMR9 or VMR7. The only way to get it working is using Overlay, which is what i could see very much faster than the other 2 modes.
The only Problem with that is, that i can't switch the Aspect Ratio in Overlay-Mode when I watch e.g. a DivX movie with cut black bars.

Is it possible to implement the Aspect Ratio change for Overlay mode, or will I have to try get LivePreview Working in VMR9? (Btw.. any hint in this direction would be great Wink )

Its not so straight forward, otherwise I would have already done it.

I do plan to implement this some time in the future but sorry I cant tell you when that will be.

i would also love this, powerdvd just looks so much better at playing dvds on my machine (it did work up to about the 92 release, but now i get funny results when i try to change ratio, image is only in the top left corner and the rest of the screen is garbage (i showed sub an image of this once, if he remembers)).

I already thought that it's not so easy to implement that... but I had have a little hope Smile

Any idea why LivePreview is not working with VMR9?
I'm using NVIDIA MPEG2 Encoder, with a WinTV PVR350 and a GeForce 5 with tvout for watch it on tv?
I just get a blank screen when i want to watch LiveTV or Watch from the Guide.
Perhaps there's a little trick which I need to know?

Thanx in advance
Tommi

P.S. Great Software anyway!

If you disable the TV out temporarily, does live preview with VMR9 work on your desktop?

I'd like this one too... My LivePreview never worked in VMR9, only in Overlay...

Thanks,

Okay I played around with all settings a whole day and found the solution just by coincidence Smile

The VMR9/LivePreview only works on the Primary Display Device. Funny thing! When I moved the GBPVR window (I switched to windowed mode for testing) from TV screen to my PC Monitor and then clicked in LiveTV there was picture and sound. Moved it back to the TV, the window went black and Sound stopped. But GBPVR does not hang or anything else. It just doesn't show picture and sound.

This means, I had to make my tv to the primary device and now it's working. That's a little bit uncomfortable because some windows (taskmanager, task-switch, login-screen! and so on) were now only shown on my TV. The other applications can be forced by nVidia desktop manager to show up on the PC Monitor.

Is there any setting to get VMR9 running on the secondary display? Is it a bug or have I made anything wrong, or is it just impossible?

P.S. Perhaps we should move the last thread entries to the support section so the people with the same problem can find it easier.

Thanks for your fast answers! Your even faster than me Smile

This isnt really a GB-PVR problem. It just sounds like some limitation of your video card drivers.
