I've got one of these fancy new 7800GT jobbies and it comes with VIVO, i've also got a standard UK Digital box (Matsui) and it connects fine through a scart to composite adapter. Since the 7800GT (and I think any vivo card from the ATI x series and the nVidia 6000 series) supports hardware encoding and everything (bar tuning) that a good PVR card will do, i'm wondering if there's any plans to support this setup? I mean by controlling the box by RS232/Serial, not magically through composite.

Any help would be totally snazzo.

Well that's ok I guess Sad

Any reason why? It's like any other video-in, apart from the RS232 support which I imagine you'll have to do for Sky and so forth.

Just because I dont want to make the project any bigger than it already is. Its hard enough finding time to support the devices that already work with GB-PVR.

Yeah, right. They all different, and they all consume time. VIVO is quite a different than they other families of video capture devices I support and would be a significant amount of works (in the hundreds of hours).

Oh I thought it was all done through DirectX/DShow and that's why all other PVR software can record straight off it without having to be updated for it. I mean isn't the recording handled by a common interface too? The bit that would need to be programmed as I see it is the changing of the channels through RS232 and whatnot.
