Anyone using one of these with GBPVR? Is there any need for GBPVR with one of these?

I found they're available in NZ - HD compatible, 5.1 sound, component output, wireless or wired, remote connection to PCTV tuner etc.

It sounded like a good tool to access stuff in the bedroom or a 2nd monitor. I realise a lot of people seem to use the MVP and I wondered if there is any comparison of one against the other (except for the price!).

Does the MVP access GBPVR's frontend and tuners etc? Not exactly sure how it all works.

Yeah, thats the big advantage with the MVP. You see the normal GB-PVR user interface, and have everything available to you that your normally would.

I thought that might be how it worked! So, as far as this Showcenter thingee is concerned it probably has it's own interface etc and can only access it's own (pinnacle) tuner.

Still, it seemed like some good functions for accessing stuff for a bedroom TV - although MVP is heaps cheaper.

I have a slightly older Showcentre 1000g and only last weekend I realised that there were a number of other non-Pinnacle servers that could be installed e.g. http://www.swisscenter.co.uk/ and http://www.oxyl.de/ which are quite neat.

I've been trying to get gbpvr program guide to come up on the Showcentre but I am getting the same error as chenko in this thread :-

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...showcenter

i.e. Server Error in '/gbpvr' Application on the Showcentre screen.

The field in the Showcentre setup is not big enough to take :

http://192.168.0.1:7647/gbpvr/index.aspx

so I had to rename index.aspx on the server to i.asp and tried :

http://192.168.0.1:7647/gbpvr/i.asp

Can I echo Chenko's question in the above forum and ask if it possible to configure the server so that http://192.168.0.1:7647 would be adequate ? This is the way the other servers I mention above work ?

BTW - Congrats, wonderful product, I particularly love the plugins.

Sorry, no its not currently possible to do this. I didnt code the built in web server myself, and it couple of funny restrictions like this that arent easy to work around.
