Hi,

As always GBPVR is a great program thanks to Sub and the plugin developers.

I'm occaisonally having GBPVR lockup while watching livetv. I was watching Monday football and about 2 hours in the picture froze, the remote would not respond though I could hear "beeps" everytime I pushed a button onthe remote. I eventually logged in via VNC and did a ctrl-alt-delete and was able to end task GBPVR.
Not sure which logs are applicable but from gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log :
9/12/2005 6:33:05 PM.315 INFO [36] Running postprocessing.bat on: D:\MyVideos\Good Eats\Good Eats_20050912_18001830.mpg
9/12/2005 6:37:06 PM.732 INFO [36] comskip has completed.
9/12/2005 11:00:46 PM.500 ERROR [35] Found expired lease. Stopping recording.

According to GbpvrTray the livetv is still being recorded, I checked and the mpeg is still growing so it is Sad

I decided to reboot at that time.

Any Ideas?
thanks,
Tom

Ok. Just an update.
I got a new MB for my PVR so I:
1) completed uninstalled & deleted gbpvr dir.
2) installed new MB.
3) "repaired" windows xp home install (was not real happy with new MB drivers or lack thereof. etc.)
4) installed latest gbpvr from www site
5) enabled showanalyzer - nice feature SUB to add that to the config!!
6) created postprocessing.bat and added renamerecording.

Problems:
I was using LiveTv again watching nfl football in timeshift mode.
1) It created 3 hours of mpeg, then closed that mpeg and created a second mpeg. no problems but gbpvr locked up (task manage not responding status) when I reached the end of the first file.
I did ctrl-alt-delete, killed gbpvr and restarted it.
The 2nd mpeg was still recording (good I didnt miss any football) so I started watching it.
2) I wasn't able to stop the recording other than doing a restart recording service from th tray icon.

I think gbpvr locked up at least another time during the playback and I had to kill it again and restart gbpvr.

I haven't grabbed the logs yet but I will when I recreate it.

thanks,
Tom

I had this lock up issue too. It was due to postprocessing. Showanalyzer was eating up 100% of the CPU. I went into the SA config and throttled it down to either 50% or 75% of CPU usage and that resolved the issue.

I completely agree with rvtazdevil... I too had lockup problems. I noticed that in Windows Task Manager that 100% of the cpu was being used and frequent use of virtual memory cased my computer to lockup.

After doing the following, I haven't had a lockup since:
1) increasing my Virtual Memory settings to 4x the available physical RAM
2) moving my page file from my boot drive to another physical drive
3) throttling down SA to use no more than 50% of my CPU.
4) defraging my page file with the free utility pagedfrg.exe

Hope this helps.Smile

I think in my case it was trying to use the HW acceleration w/ the nVidia decoders. I had a different card in there and they seemed to work. It stopped once I turned it off (or seemed to so far).
