Hi,

Just started using gbpvr after having so many problems with Media Portal, so far looks good.

I do have one initial problem with the recording which some one might be able to help me with. I am using a Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T digital TV card but when I try to record using MPEG using any of the BDA mux I get very bad files, choppy, jumpy, distorted etc. When I switch to microsoft tv mux everything is ok.

Any ideas
Thanks

Can you post your output from MuxChecker?

Wow, thought this would be a good site; such a quick reply.

I think this is what you have asked for:

GB-PVR has detected the following multiplex filters on your machine:

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared Files\PDMpgMux.ax
VERSION: 3.5.0107

If you're running WinXP SP1 or higher, you will also be able to use the built-in DVR-MS mux filter

Thanks

In response to your original question then....

Quote:I am using a Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T digital TV card but when I try to record using MPEG using any of the BDA mux I get very bad files, choppy, jumpy, distorted etc.
You only have one very old version of the Cyberlink mux filter installed on your machine, so regardless of which mux option you selected its always going to use this same old buggy version of the Cyberlink mux. Try installing a newer version, but remember to deregister the old one, or it'll most likely continue to be used.

The search button will show you where to get a later version.

Hi, thanks Sub will start looking etc.

Now that you have mentioned this, I did a little search in Windows/Systems32 for mpg*.ax files and came across the following

MPeg2data.ax
mpg2splt.ax
mpg4ds32.ax

What I was thinking was that, shouldn't have I have more that one mux registered as I have installed Pinnacle Studio 9 which must have a mux filter - if I'm understanding that the mux filter is the the thing that puts the video and audio togther.

Are the above files Windows?

Also if I register them (as they seem not to be at the moment) how will I select which one to use in gbpvr, or does it just use the first one it find?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Again,

So I did some searching on the forum and people were talking about mpgmux.ax (not pdmpgmux.ax thoguh). Downloaded mpgmux.ax, unregistered pdmpgmux.ax and registered mpgmux.ax.

Selected the cyberlink mux in the config (not sure if this was right) and tried to record. Simply got a zero(0) length file.

Not sure what to do next - will try to find a later version of pdmpgmux.ax, and register that.

Thanks
