Hello.

If you plan to set up a media server at home with tv-tuners and all your media stored it would be nice with a gbpvr-client to use on other pc´s around the house. I do have a MVP that works great but need the same functions on other computers.

SageTvClient is exactly what I mean but gbpvr is far more better (in my opinion) and I want to use that as "server".

Sub, you are doing a great job!

Actually, I heard it is possible to install GBPVR on another computer and have them share the database, etc, with the second (the "client") PC not defining any capture sources.
However, I have not seen a good explanation exactly what this requires or how to do it.

Anyone willing to write a short "HowTo"?

Thanks,
GGF

see this thread: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=6132

a software-mvp-client was on its way (http://www.gbpvr.com/MVPClient.zip)... but unfortunately the developer seem to have left us and took the source code with him...

according to this thread several users got it working.
AMD 1600mHz, 512 M RAM, 20+160 GB drive, Hauppauge PVR-350 + PVR-150 + PVR-150MCE, Win XP Pro SP3, using software decoding.

The software mvp-client is really interesting but it´s a bit alpha and buggy to me. To bad it isn´t developed anymore.

I´ve also tried the trick to install GBPVR on client machines and point to the server database and configfiles but with limited success. In theory it should work well but I can´t make it work.

A nice and failproof guide how to setup clients would be nice just like 'GoodGuys' said.

My main goal with softwareclients is to be able to watch LiveTV, switch channels and use the TV-guide with epg-data.
