I followed the instructions in the install notes file, moving the 2 dll's, but the plugin does not show up on the plugin's tab.

i didn't have a "Panels" directory, so I created one and moved the xml file there.

thx.

The Music Panel doesn't show up in the plugins tab - it is just called by a the main menu skin. I am a bit surprised that you didn't have a "panels" directory, as most recent working skins do - looking at the install notes, it doesn't specifically mention that the panels directory is located under the skin directory. ie something like "C:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\Blue\panels"

To use the music panel you have to do two things - the first is to install it by extracting the .dlls and the MusicPanel.xml file to their correct places, and then you actually have to call up the panel from a skin in order to see it.

Most people have it being called from their main menu skin, so in the main menu skin.xml file, near the bottom of the file under <!-- plugin panels --> put a line like
Quote:<SpecialElement name="Panel" panelName="MusicPanel" visible="true" transparency="0.9" loc="135,405" size="397,42" />
(you will have to adjust the loc values in this line to put it somewhere you want, and if you change the size, don't forget to change it in the musicpanel.xml file as well).

If you simply want to check if it is working, I know that the music panel is enabled by default on the main menu page of the flat blue high vis skin, so if you try that one you should see an indication of the currently playing music from the main menu if your dlls are in the right place.

cheers,

i never bothered making a skin for the blue skin for the music panel, its only meant to be used by skins that have included functionality for it, the blue skin seems to be considered as a lo-fi skin so i never saw the need.

sounds like it's looking for and not finding the music.png image file.

If you read the skin.xml file, you will see that it references three image files - music.png,music-pause.png and music-play.png, which would by default be located in the panels directory.

I have attached the three images I use, or you could download the FatBlueHighVisibility skin to see how I did it.

cheers,
