Hi,

I have the following configuration:

1. Philips proteus card that uses WDM
2. Sigma Designs Xcard (for outputing to TV screen)
3. Celeron III 1.2GHz
4. RAM = 256MB

I have managed to configure the capture card by installing the plugin for WDM drivers. I was able to watch videos from my composite input on the computer monitor by clicking the "Live TV".

The problem arises when I changed the configuration "Hardware Decoder Device" to Sigma Designs Xcard.

GBPVR was able to output the main screen to the TV, and I was able to navigate every button. But when I tried to click the "Live TV", there was an error message "Error: undetermined error"

The same problem occurs when i clicked the DVD sign. The error message: "Error: External Component has thrown an exception".

I have installed Xmedia to verify if its a faulty Sigma Designs Xcard, but the Xmedia was able to play the DVD.

Thank you

Now, i'll admit I'm new to the scene so let me ask a quick question here

Why is your uotput card set ad the hardware decoder. It was my understanding that the hardware that did the decoding was the capture card, in your case the proteus. The signal comes into your machine and is translated into data that is usable by windows xp and thus gb-pvr.

Is it possible to have the video out card do the decoding?

Francis want's to capture using Proteus and output using the Xcard. The capture card captures (and encodes) the video into a format readable by windows. This is then decoded for display by software (for display through video card), or in the case of PVR-350 and Xcard Decodes via hardware (for display on the PVR or Xcard out). Using hardware decoding requires less CPU and generally produces better results than software...

Yes, never could get my pvr-350 tv out to work...
