I am looking for a new box myself. I looked at building one but it costs less to buy one. This http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/gener...1049&lc=en HP looks good. 200 gig SATA, 512meg, Athlon 64 3500+, and dual layer dvd for $569 after $50 rebate. It also comes with XP MCE. It has integrated graphics, but since I use MVP's I don't think it would be a problem. Any thoughts? It is just going to be my PVR toy box. I am not a gamer.

Thanks Tipster,

Problem is by the time you buy a case, a dvd burner and the OS it works out to around the same, and I know it is matched up correctly. The board on that one is an ASUS with ATI 2000 express graphics that is not rated too bad for onboard graphics. I can always add on a graphics card since there is a slot for it. I had a blast building my last one, but it is not rock stable. I will wait a week or so to see what pops up on the after Thanksgiving sales. I am sure there will some deals to be had.

Maybe it goes without saying, but nowhere on the description of their computer do they state whether it has tv-out capabilities. And maybe you don't need it, either =)

True, you could save a bit more money by just stealing the hardware too. Big Grin

Maxtors are always on sale.

Is it really a sale if it's always on? Wouldn't that make it their normal price ? Big Grin

What's with the new ASUS A8N-VM CSM? It's the new nForce 430 + GeForce 6150 (OnBoard, TV-Out, HDTV, VideoAcceleration), 1 PCIe x16, 1 PCIe x1, 2 PCI-Slots.

I bought this one and i am happy. GB-PVR run's now on this MoBo with an AMD 64 3.500+, 2 GB RAM, 2 x 250 GB Seagate NL 35 @ RAID-0, 1 Plextor 130A and 1 Plextor 760.

The Case i used is from Aspire and called X-QPack AL (Barebone).

It looks great, is really powerful and even low @ noise and energydraining.
