I have just added a nova-t usb2 tuner to my setup.

I am puzzled as to how I set up the tv guide at the moment I use xmtv radio times to get all the programme info for my pvr350,

If I use the dvb-t epg I end up with two rows of info for each channel which is available on both tuners.

Is this the correct way to do it ?

any advice greatfully received

There are probably subtle differences in the names which make GB-PVR think the names are different (BBC1 vs BBC One, or capitalisation differences etc). For a mixed analog/digital setup like this, you probably best to setup both capture sources to use same EPG source (radio times XMLTV), so you can be sure the names are the same and they only show up as the one channel in the TV Guide.

I dont recommend people change the EPG source on a capture source. Its better to delete the capture source, then 'ok' out of the config app, then go back in and recreate it with the new settings.

Thanks for fast reply that works great, but one minor question how can I know which tuner will be used for which recording,

my pvr350 is connected to a telewest cable box using composite inputs I have to change the channels on this box manually each day for the recordings.

but obviously the nova-t will change automatically when the recording is scheduled to start on it.

for me to continue in this way I need to know which recordings will happen on the PVR350 so I can schedule the channel changes manually on the telewest box

the other option is to hope that santa may deliver a redeye serial of course

You cant really tell.

It generally starts at the top of the list of capture sources and works its way down until it finds a free device that can record the specified channel. Live tv starts at the bottom of the list and works its way up, to minimize conflicts. The rules can change a bit with back to back recordings since it tries to get padding on both devices. It can also move a recording to another capture source if its inuse with TV when its scheduled to record.

Ok then If my interpretation is correct, with the config as seen in the attached pic it will normally try and record from the pvr350 first and normally try and use the nova-t for live tv first

thats what I'd want it to do as the pvr350 has the best reception

Would it be possible in a future version to get something displayed which shows which tuner has currently been chosen to record a programme, when you look at the details of the pending shows.

Or is the tuner not actually chosen until the programme is about to record

Sorry, I'd prefer not to do this. I can see it leading to all sorts of feature requests...
