Is live preview possible on this card?

There always seems to be a delay between live TV captured via composite input and screen output in GBPVR.

Yes, but you can only use live preview when you're viewing on your PC monitor (not MVP,XCard,PVR350).

Live preview mode doesnt give you 'no delay'. It gives you 'minimal delay'.

If you're using 'encoder pass-through' deinterlacing, then it'll probably be half a second behind live. If you've got deintelacing set to 'none', then it'll probably only be about 50ms - 100ms behind live, but the picture will not have been deinterlaced.

Yes it's possible. I don't remember the details, but there's a way to bypass the encoder, otherwise everything is timeshifted.
You can never have enough tuners!

I would have hoped it was possible to bypass encoder. I tried using the card in dScaler but can only use its directshow filter (dscaler doesn't have native support for PVR500). Picture quality was adequate (but some noticable video noise on composite in). If in timeshifting mode (i.e. am always looking at the output of the onboard encoder) then I would expect the picture to have gained even more artefacts than proper preview mode. By "proper" preview mode I mean the output of the video capture part of the card (like the older analogue capture cards without encoder).

Would be good to know how to get video before encoder. I'm unsure why live preview mode gives any delay. (a couple of frames of video maybe)
