I'm not sure what to do, then. I deleted the VA setup.zip folder and the unzipped folder. I re-downloarded it and reinstalled it. IT says I was using version 2.11 with a 12/8 date.
Then I went into config.exe and had a problem on exit. I may have a corrupt DB.
This is what happened. I went into plugins, clicked on the settings button of VA (but didn't make any changes) and then clicked OK. I got some type of exception (couldn't highlight the error message or I would have posted it). Then a microsoft .net error popped up and offered "continue" and "quit" buttons (& some other button) so I quit.
I shut down the computer, rebooted, and then again went into the config app, and to the plugins. I opened the settings for VA, but DID NOT clik OK; instead I clicked cancel. When I closed out the config this time, I did not get the errors.
My machine just started recording shows for the next four hours so I won't work again on it until tonight.
Thanks!
