VERY slow Live TV

Hi all,


Just installed GB PVR. Set everything up and am using a PVR350 and Intervideo codecs/mux. I'm not utilizing the 350 for encoding. I've been getting very slow reaction when selecting to watch live tv. It takes anywhere from 30-50 seconds for video to start up when I select to watch tv. Since I'm not familiar with the settings in GV PVR, I went to the wiki and followed the setup the best I could. Does anyone have any pointers I could use to tweak things to make them 'normal'? Help is appreciated.

Wha are your system specs, sounds like you could be underpowered?

Athlon XP 1900
512 PC 2700 DDR
40 GB WD 7200 RPM for windows
120GB Maxtor 7200 RPM for Music
250GB WD 7200 RPM for Videos


I don't think I'm too underpowered on this one. If I am, I may need to go Linux eh?

I do believe I have found it.


It had to do with "Use Live Preview Mode" in the Misc tab in the config menu. I unchecked this box and voila...Live TV takes only a few seconds to pop in and display.
