Anyone know why i'm having this problem. Whenever there is a dark (i.e. pretty much blacked out) scene or frame while watching a DVD, my TV 'blacks out' or kind of turns off. It's as if the connection between the computer and the TV is lost, and then is restored the moment there is light. I don't lose audio. It's as if it's having difficult time rendering black scenes.

Is this a video card issue? DVD Decoder issue? Settings issue?

The first thing I could think of are the video card drivers, not the video card itself. It sounds like the video drivers think there is no video output during black frames and drops the TV-out signal - as soon as the frames are no longer black, the drivers read that there is a signal to send and restores the output to the TV.

Does this only happen during DVD playback, or do you notice it during other playback (Live TV or recorded TV)? If it's only DVD playback, it would probably be a problem with the DVD codecs.

Hope that helps.

This happens only through DVD Playback. I changed DVD Decoders and it seems to have taken care of the problem.
