OK - so I'm going to build my first PVR. (and I live in Melbourne Australia)
It's going to play DIVX's, MP3's and also act as my PVR. It might play some games somewhere down the track but it's not a core requirement.
I have done a lot of net searches, forum searches and other searches. I have come up with SOME information and i want to give GBPVR a try first.
Questions:
1) I want a dual HD digital decoding solution - the only card I have seen (which would work well in Australia) is:
Fusion HDTV DVB-T Dual Digital
As far as I can tell this card is fully supported by GBPVR and would be a good bet - any comments?
2) I want a Video card to output component 480p (or even better 720p) as far as I have been able to find my best bet would be an NVidia GeForce 6600 based card (although component output is locked to 480p not 720p for some reason). Due to the way my TV works component, progressive scan output is an absolute requirement. Am I on the right track or can anyone suggest a better/cheaper card for this specific application.
Hopefully I can benefit from your experience
Thanks,
Stephen
