I have Windows MCE 2005 installed and 2x BlackGold DVB-T cards. MCE is configred to only use 1 of the cards so the other should be free for GB-PVR. When I do a "Map digital channels" though it scans through 6 muxes(?) very quickly and finds nothing, the whole scan anly lasts about 10 seconds.

I have tried editting my config.xml as mentioned in a couple of other threads about this problem but no luck. I tried:

<BDAScanType>2</BDAScanType>
<BDAUsePsiParser>false</BDAUsePsiParser>

in all possible combinations but no imrovement, in fact with the parser off it was even worse - about a 5 seconds scan. I have tried changing the "Device Number" in case I was addressing the wrong card but there's no change. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

No, but its probably worth doing it when the MCE services are shutdown so yo can be sure the card is not in use.

zip and attach the config.exe-native.log and I'll see if I can see anything.

OK, I tried with all the MCE services off but it was still the same. I have attached the config.exe-native log files. Cheers.

The error I've highlighted above will probably account for your problem. I'm not sure why they're not connecting though.

I have GraphEdit installed, is there any way I could use that to find a graph that will connect these pins?

About all you could really do is check the names in bda.ini for your card against those listed by Graphedit.

Hmm, well BDA.ini says this for my card:

Code:
[Blackgold GDI]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=Genesis BDA Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=Genesis BDA Transport Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

But if I open Graphedit and try to connect the output from the "Genesis BDA Tuner" to the "Genesis BDA Transport Capture" it says they can't agree a connection. Surely for the cards to work there must be a filter somewhere on my machine that will go between them? I have tried all the BDA filters and anything in DirectShow that mentions transport. Any other suggestions before I give up? Thanks for your help so far.

I suspect it is trying to contect the tuner filter from one card to the capture filter on the other card, which wont work.

You could try editing config.xml and setting <BDAAutoDetectTuner>false</BDAAutoDetectTuner>

No go I'm afraid with the config.xml change. A tried connecting the "Genesis BDA Tuner" to both of the "Genesis BDA Transport Capture" options in case they have to be used in their correct pairs but they still don't connect. Oh well Sad

Random off-topic question: Will a "Next" or "Skip to next video" option ever be added to the Video Library? I ask because I keep having to shut down GB-PVR and load the default Hauppauge software to accomplish this.

Thanks.

There must be something funny with the BlackGold drivers when multiple devices are in the one machine.

If you press Ctrl-O, it'll jump to the end of the current file, forcing it to switch to the next file about a second later.
