GB-PVR / MediaMVP Security

Just installed the MediaMVP, looks great with GB-PVR, but I was surprised it showed my entire sever's PC HD, not just the shared folders.

Could there be security risks running this?

Could someone outside connect to the GB-PVR server and access all files?

You'd want to set your video directory to somewhere with just videos (like c:\MyVideos) and the recording directory. I doubt you'd want to leave your recordings in thw root of your c: drive.

The server checks that any incoming requests (from MVP or other...) are not outside this directory, and that it ends in .mp3/.mpg/.m2v etc.

I'm not sure if the original Hauppauge software also performs these checks.
