Okay this might be a dumb question..probably is. I want to feed something into the composite input on my pvr-500 and show up as a channel - that being my PS2. I rarely ever reboot the computer and would like to not have to change sources on my tv because I am lazy. Is there a way to map either of the inputs to a channel or is there a channel I can tune to that gets me to either of the inputs?

Thanks in advance

Its possible, but I imagine you would find your games are unplayable as you couldnt react to whats onscreen quick enough due to the delay you get when you feed something in to the tuner card. I stand to be corrected if im wrong but im sure ive seen other people say something to that effect.

As a test I hooked up the PS2 to my old school WinTV PCI card in my main workstation and while playable, I would find myself tossing the controller across teh room in a tense game of GTA3 Big Grin I used to hook up my NES using this manner on my main workstation and it played to about 98% of normal game speed so it worked swell..guess I need to play more with the MyPrograms plugin and enjoy emulator goodness.

But I still wouldn't mind knowing if someone was able to figure this out, still has a world of possibility and am curious if the only way to run those inputs is via WinTV2000..

You can setup an additional capture source for the card, select composite or svideo as the input source, set the EPG to 'none' then manually add a channel called "PS2".

It'll suck more than your old WinTV PCI card though, since the PVR500's hardware encoder adds a delay to things.

God I'm stupid, I was thinking it was more complicated then that..thanks Sub. And it's all for science..honestly if it works decent enough I would probably have my Dreamcast working on it and using it's NES emulator Big Grin

Channel "1" isn't in use with my cable setup, so I've setup :

Capture Card Type: Hauppauge: PVR150MCE
Country: Canada
Board Number: Capture Device #1
Source: Composite, External Tuner
Quality Profile Settings: Medium Quality

Source Name: VHS
Recording Source: Direct Recording Plugin
EPG Source: None
Channel Changer: No Channel Changer Required

And I have added a channel called "1 VHS", Enable, Source channel "1"

How can I tune to "1" directly ? I only manage to tune to the channel by doing "2", then "channel down"

Check the channel number in the main channel tab in the config app.
