MVP Audio Playback Issues?

Does anyone have any experience with lower quality audio from both music and recordings when playing back via the MVP?

I suspect its a device issue and I'm about to check with the default Hauppauge software; if it is are there any config tweaks in GBPVR that could help? Similart to those that adjust the brightness on the MVP etc.

You mention the brightness thing but unless someone corrects me, I don't believe that's universal.

Isn't the direct.ini a file that relates to how directshow capture devices should be configured?

The MVP plays back MPEG files, however they are captured so I can only see that the brightness setting in direct.ini actually affects the local capture card such that it's actually the brightness of the recording being saved that is being changed, NOT in fact the playback of the file via the MVP. Of course the net result is that the playback is brighter too but in my case, I have DVB-T card which just save the digital broadcast MPEG stream, there are no settings for brightness during record, no settings for choice of bitrate, it just saves the MPG file.

So all the MVP does is replay the same MPG file and I don't see that the direct.ini setting has any factor in this whatsoever.

To answer your question, I can't say that I had really noticed anything regarding playback but then my standards have lowered over the years.

Thanks for the reply, I didnt realise that was what I was manipulating with the direct.ini file, although it makes sense.

Hmm I think this sound issue would be noticable, will report back when ive found out some more info.
