.net and PC goes into standby

Let me preface this by saying I know zilch about programming and complicated networking stuff.

Ever since installing the requisite .net framework for GBPVR, my computer goes into standby constantly. I am then greeted by the user login screen showing x number of apps running. This is annoying. Searching through the MS .net site, the only thing I find is how .net will help my company be more successful. Useless to say the least.

Now is there something I can tweak to change this or is this completely unrelated to .net maybe?

I've tried changing the power settings to No sleep/hibernate and it still does it.

That seems like strange behavior. You might try a BIOS update on your system. While my standby problems were not related to .Net, updating my BIOS helped.
