Let me describe my setup, then let me describe what I'd like to do.

I've got a solid AMD 3000+ CPU, 1 GB RAM, and a PVR250 Hauppauge card

I've got OTA channels, 8,11,13,21,30,57 and I've got Dish Network on channel 17.

What I'd like to do is setup GBPVR to record Channel 17 for 1 hour at 5:00 in the AM.

What I don't see is a way to do this. I've got my Sat receiver set to change channels automatically at that time.

How can I configure GBPVR to record Channel 17 (with no zap2it listing or other idea of what is on that channel) for 1 hour every day?

Thanks

When setting up 'capture sources' you should have channels 8,11 etc listed, click 'add' at the bottom and enter channel 17 and call it 'satellite' or whatever
This should now show as an empty slot in you epg guide and you will be able to schedule manual recordings, specifying 'satellite' as the channel.

If there are particular channels you always record from on satellite you can download listings from zap2it (dont use zap2it but asume this would be the same as xmltv that i use) but set the channel numbers all to channel 17, then use the tv guide to schedule the show you want and you will get program info too.

sounds like you want to setup an manual record (Recordings > Manual Rec), setup your time and channel, and change the "Recording Type" to "Record Every Day"...

I've actually been trying that, but the only thing I can change on the "recording> manual recording" screen is the channel number. It doesn't want to change the time, or the recording type.

Any ideas why?

Sorry, missed the fact you had channel 17 setup already! duh.

If your recording the same channel everytime though, that second point works well. I record Animal Planet through the night when the dish reciever is not used by anyone and get each show with its own title and description.

Often if something fails to work, its detailed in the GBPVR.exe.log file in the GBPVR root folder and it'll give you a clue as to what the problem might be.

Turns out that I was using the mouse to try to click on the other options in the manual record screen. Using the up and down arrows on the keyboard ending up "fixing" my problem.....

Thanks for the help....

I'm pretty sure you can also directly enter the manual recording time using a keyboard/remote. (In the default recording panel anyway, not XRecord).
