Hi,
I have just installed gb-pvr and have my pvr250 set up which is fine and dandy. The issue I have is that I have UK listings with the normal 5 channels and a few extra freeview channels such as itv2, bbc3 etc which I can get through a set top box connected to the pvr 250, I would like to know if I can set gb pvr so the 1st 5 channels are picked up using the pvr 250 tuner and the other xmltv listing channels through the composite or svid, Is this possible?
I notice that gb-pvr is very slow on channel changing even though my pc specs are midrange (2ghz processor) yet on another 3rd party app with timeshift mode (always recording in the background) it takes less than a second to change channels, is this correct or do I have a configuration issue?
Thanks for taking the time to read this..

You should be able to set up two capture sources, both using the same card. One source should be setup to use the tuner, one the svideo.

Yes, GB-PVR can be slow changing channels. It seems to vary for many people and the time depends on MPEG decoder, hardware decoder, whether you're using and MVP client etc. I'd also like it to be faster, but this is a best I've been able to do. Its a more complex issue than it initially seemed.

The cheapest I've seen in the UK so far is the redrat (£69) but thats still a bit steep for my blood.

Just import a USB-UIRT from the US. With the current state of the US currency, it should be relatively cheap.

Lagrin this might do it for you but I'm looking for a freeview one.
http://www.redremote.co.uk/serial/index.html

Sub: It still works out about £50 or £60 after p&p even more if customs get their hands on it for a usb-uirt.

sorry herbs only just seen this, did you ever manage to source one and if you did which one.

I looked at RedEye but I don't have a serial connection, I was forced to get the USB-UIRT from http://www.USB-UIRT.com it cost me £40 with shipping included. I found it strange however if you try to purchase it off the snapstream store shipping costs $50 alone and worked out as a $100 dollars overall as apposed to $70.

Hi,
I never did get an ir blaster but £40 seems a little better, but I seem to have managed so far I just see there is a market in the uk for this thing but no one seems to be filling it in.
