have a P4 dual processor 2.8
512 ram

I am running:
GB-PVR v0.96.12
Hauppage PVR2 USB2
I have the following drivers:Hauppauge Video Decoder version 5
WinTV-PVR-USB2 driver update version 2.2.73_ driver and middleware
Driver: pvrusb2_2273_24023.zip
Middleware: pvr24xxx_30_24062.exe
GB-PVR v0.96.12

I have setting as follows in GB-PVR:
Capture source: usb2,
Recording sourceBig Grinirect Recording Plugin:Hauppauge WinTv PVR2 USB2
Medium Quality

Playback: Hardware Decoder Device:none-use software decoder
Software MPEG-2 Playback: InterVideo NonCSS Video Decoder VMR9
minimal OSD during playback checked

My issue is that I have pretty frequent stutter in playback. I have really bad issues if I try to watch while its recording. In live I have some I have been reading, and noted that going to the task manager and setting the GBPVRtray and GBPVRrecordingservice to a high priorty. I did't notice any difference.
I downloaded the hcw2_7_24023_usb2\misc\utility file with the usbtest and it says I am running USB 2.0. This is the only usb device I have on my system (no external hub). Is ther anything else I can do to get this thing workable without the lagging and stutters? Thanks in advance. I'm about 5 hours into this on my Saturday. What a hobbySmile

try setting livetv passthru to a lower level in direct.ini...
i noticed my pc would choke it that was set too high..[or pc couldn't keep up]
lower to about 4 to see if that affects live tv..
i always got that stutter with vmr9 and that decoder..
not sure if that one has hardware acceleration or not but they seem to be poor performers on lower end systems..

or try overlay...almost no processor needed with overlay...[and it looks better to me actually, more like original signal]

oh yea,and no network paths for recording destination..that will choke it for sure... [must be local drive for recordings and tv buffers]
might not be so good on usb/firewire drives either..
