I am having weird issuses with my Hauppage 930c HD. It will not work with the DVB-C stream generated by a genexis fiber modem. I also have a
normal cable provider (ziggo), whose signal i can use for testing purposes.

-930c works with the ziggo DVB-C signal
-930c does not work with the genexis DVB-C signal
-set top box (Humax 5100C) DOES work with the genexis signal as well as the ziggo signal.
-Set-top box says genexis signal strenght is "excellent"
-the analog signal generated by the genexis DOES work on the 930c HD, only the DVB-C does not (cannot find channels)
-WinTV7 also cannot find any channels.
-i obviously tried to search All/all, with both NextPVR and WinTV7. this took several hours...

so: the genexis router generates a correct DVB-C signal, because it works with a generic set-top box (304mhz, 6875 kBd, QAM-64, netid 4800),
the 930c works correctly, because it easily finds the channels from the ziggo DVB-C signal. Everything is tested on the same cables, same spot.

Anyone any idea as to why the 930cHD cannot find the channels from the genexis?

any help would be much appreciated

The first thing you need to do make sure NextPVR isn't trying to scan the correct frequency, symbol rate and modulation combination for Genexis. If you have to, create a new file in C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Tuning\DVB-C, with a frequency you know should receive signals.

If you've tried that, and it's still not working, and given it's not working in WinTV7 either, then it maybe something driver or device related. You'd probably need to talk to Hauppauge about this sort of problem.

thank you for the response,

yeah, it sure looks like a compatibility problem between signal and my device. Hauppage benelux is unreachable for the moment. Their contact form is down, and i cannot find an email or phone nr.

anyone have their contact info?

You could try posting at http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/forum/ ... They are not proud and will talk to almost anybody.

my bad.....

i was under the impression that "all countries - all frequenties 6875" meant just that, that it would scan ALL frequenties with 6875. Looking again at the .ini I realise that it does not scan ALL frequenties, but it skips certain frequenties.

making my own .ini with 100 or so frequenties starting at 304 mhz solved my problem.

Thanks everyone.

P.S. maybe you could consider changing the name of the .ini

I did tell you above to make sure it's scanning the correct frequency / symbol rate combination for Genexis.

The "all countries - all frequencies" is just the combinations we've come across so far. There is nothing to stop some other cable company from using some oddball frequency different to all the other cable operates.

Yes, unfortunately I foolishly dismissed your suggestion because I thought i already scanned ALL frequenties, because that is what the name of the .ini suggests.

I don't think i will be the last to make the same mistake. Maybe others will find this thread and figure it out that way.
