Question setting up tuner

Hi everyone,

I've been reading around the forums but I haven't been able to find an answer for my question, which is:

I have a PVR150MCE and I have Satellite (with DISHNetwork). Under Windows MCE, it works fine for Live TV and recording. I was setting up GBPVR and I want to try it out for my live TV and recording, but I can't seem to set it up correctly. I've read through the set up capture card section on the wiki but it doesn't seem to go into details about my problem.

When I set it up (using the wiki directions), all I get is a black screen when I go to Live TV. Guide works fine and syncs up with Zap2it just fine, but the live TV doesn't seem to work.

Anyone have any detailed instructions on how to get this working for satellite?

how exactly have you tried to set up your capture source?

I go to the Config system and click on the Capture Source tab. I click on Add and then go through the process as the wiki says. I give it a source name and then click on Settings for Record Source. I continue by clicking the checkbox for Only show devices detected in this machine. It shows me the Hauppauge PVR150MCE, so I select it. I then select USA for country, Capture Device #1 for Board number and then on Source, I select internal tuner. For Tuning, I leave it as Cable (because it doesn't give me any satellite option, only Cable or Antenna).

Am I doing something wrong?

If you're using satellite, then you're not using an internal tuner - you're using either composite, svideo or external tuner. In all these cases the DISHNetwork set top box has to act as the tuner, since the PVR150 isnt a satellite tuner card. The exact choice of these depends on how you've connected your DISH box to your PVR150.
