I use my palm TX for watching some shows that I have recorded. Right now I use a 2G SD card and transfer the recordings. It would be a lot better if I could stream over the wifi connection but I haven't been able to find a Palm program "freeware" that can handle streaming media from VLC.

As far as battery life goes that is the big draw back. I usually keep a power cord with me and if I’m just sitting I plug it in to keep the battery full for the time I am mobile. This includes having a power inverter in every one of my cars.

This is very handy for road trips however the DIVX encoding is still a bit large. I am currently experimenting with the different ones to see witch will give me decent compression with usable quality on the palm. This is where the small screen comes in handy as you don't need high end quality to get a usable picture on the PDA.

dgeezer Wrote:I have an HP Ipaq rx3100, I think thats the correct model number, that I have watched a few videos on. I reencoded a several videos for my daughter so that she could watch them while we're traveling. The playback was decent enough and the sound was very good. However, now she always uses my laptop.
It has bluetooth and 802.11b but I was never able to get it to stream audio or video, however I didn't try very hard. .

My son also has a HP Ipaq but his model is the discontinued rx3115 which also has bluetooth. He used Sompy free software to stream videos to it and is really pleased with the result. Last summer it cost about $349CAD
