I've been using GB-PVR successfully for a couple of months now, and I'm very impressed. My only frustration has been my inability to get my PVR 150's irblaster working with my Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3200 digital cable set top box, so I'm limited to analog cable only. So, I'm about to resort to purchasing another irblaster, and so far, MyBlaster/USB is my chosen product.

However, I've searched the GB-PVR forums, and they seem to suggest that GB-PVR discontinued MyBlaster support in late 2005. Has this changed? Can GB-PVR successfully change channels through MyBlaster, perhaps through a special .exe? And if so, what special .exe would that be?

Can anybody shed some light on my chances of success with MyBlaster?

Many thanks,
Gary

Unfortunately my MyBlaster stopped functioning a long time ago (hardware broken), so its no longer supported by GB-PVR. Sorry, but I dont know any way you can use this with GB-PVR.

Garry - you may find this thread of some use to you as I'm currently looking at IR Hardware - so far the UirT looks the most likley option.

I got it working. It's ugly but it works. I had to download something called HE Remote (http://www.tvscheduler.net/download.html). Then run it, and you can program it for your remote (it learns as it asks you to press buttons 0-9 and then enter). Then, go into services and run the GBPVR Recording service under the account you are logged into (I am running XP). Configure GBPVR to use an EXE to change the channel. Create a cmd file running

c:
cd \
cd heremote
HEREMOTEHELPER.EXE Cable -channel# {Channel} %1

adjust GBPVR to call the cmd file. It will pass the channel which will change it for you. The only drawback is i think the HEREMOTE guy wants a small fee to continue using it (shareware).

I just revived my USB myBlaster and was looking for a way to get it to work with gbpvr. A free alternative is:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/myblaster

With slight modifications for windows it works very well.
