Hi All,

I've got an odd problem with the TV listings when using the Advisor (excellent) skin and MCE theme (although all themes exhibit the same problem).

What happens is that the listings look fine but I get two blank lines after the normal channels (see image attached). It's not a massive problem but I'd like to get rid of them. I just can't see what's causing them to appear though. (If I switch to the default Blue skin then the problem goes away.)

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks,

CC

How many channels do you have defined? as the Advisor skin appears to be setup for 7 channels to display at a time

Code:
<SpecialElement name="Guide" loc="15,80" visibleChannels="7" guideWidth="600" channelRowHeight="40" showNavigation="false" borderWidth="2" rounded="false"

If you only have 5 channels as it looks from your screenshot, perhaps changing the visibleChannels="5" in skin\advisor\tv guide\skin.xml would solve the problem, edit the skin.xml with notepad, backup the skin.xml before editing in case it all goes wrong!

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply, I definitely have only 5 channels set up. I tried changing the visiblechannels value to 5 from 7 but no improvement - it's strange isn't it?

Look in the skin folder for a TVgrid.png (or similar) file - this is the image used for the background. As the grid is just an image it takes no notice of how many channels you have set up.

McBainUK is correct in that the image is scaled for 7.

Find this line:
Code:
<DrawImage filename="..\TvGuide_grid.png" loc="84,79" size="603,282"/>

and change it to this:
Code:
<!--DrawImage filename="..\TvGuide_grid.png" loc="84,79" size="603,282"/-->

and that will turn off that image altogether.

OR

You could open that image up in a image editor and delete off the bottom two rows. Do not crop or alter the image size, just select the area and "Clear" or "Cut", depending on program used.

Skinner blah blah blah here (not to hijack the thread).

Maybe in the future, we should provide an image that is a single row?
You would have 4,5,6,7,ect. "draw images" depending on number in the guide. That way there would not need to be a different image for each grid size and spacing.

Each line in the grid would need to be positioned correctly, but that way different skins could use the same image (or theme) regardless of grid size.

Many thanks for this great information, I understand how it works now and will edit the png file to fix the problem.

Thanks again!
