Hi!

I currently have a ATI 550 based TV tuner card. However, the sound is always giving me out-of-sync issues. Picture is okay, but I can't get the sound in sync.

So I Thought I ask: Which analog TV tuner card would You like to recommend for more or less only Live-TV watching on my PC ? Or should I get an external separate Tuner solution, and if so, which one should I look into ?

Thanks in advance Smile

Mhm... i am very happy with my Hauppauge! PVR-150 and PVR-500 Cards. For you, also only for watching, i would say a cheap PVR-150 without FM-Tuner were perfect for you.

I cannot recommend any external USB 1.0/1.1/2.0 solution.

SD, your post made me laugh, as this is one of the vagaries of English that I often discuss with my "Frau". Not having a crack at you at all, so please don't get me wrong here, I just find the subject interesting. Do you mean:

I cannot recommend any external USB 1.0/1.1/2.0 solution because I've tried lots of them/read a lot about them and they are rubbish.

OR

I cannot recommend any external USB 1.0/1.1/2.0 solution because I am unable to do so having had no personal experience of them.

@ LH.se: I am also happy with my Hauppauge PVR-150. It's probably not absolutely the BEST tuner if that's what you are after (I don't know what is though!), but it's fine for LIVETV and more importantly, generally a hassle-free setup. Are you sure you can't get past the audio-sync issues (different set of codecs etc?). Audio-sync is a reasonably common problem, so hopefully there should be a solution for you out there?

k.

[EDIT]In retrospect, had SD meant the former, he would likely have said I do not, rather than I cannot, although cannot is often used when do not is meant.

I have the hauppauge pvr usb2 and it works as well as my pvr250 but there is a slight issue with red I think the product is faulty as the reds used to be fine. But don't let that put you off it. If you live in the UK pc world are selling ti for £49.99 at the moment.

Are you sure it's the hardware. I've got the same card and find it fine. Audio/video sync issues are mostly likely to with codecs and/or render(s) and/or slow CPU/g.card.

Might be worth looking into before you 'splash the cash'.

I agree with McBainUK. My ATI 550 works very well and audio/video is sync'ed.
