TV Listings & how XMLincons work?

I love the TV Listings plugin and I use it to replace the TV Guide option. I've read the pages about the XML icons and that they have their own plugins, but I never can get them to work. Are they suppose to download an icon for popular network icons? Or am I off on this?

And if so, could someone walk me through the icon part of a post tv listing setup?

I'm not sure if I understood you correctly. Do you mean icons for the channels or do you mean the images that are displayed inside the details popup along with the programme description?

I knew I didnt fully understand everything... I saw in the pages that it does that I didnt understand how to make it work. Ignore the icon thing... I understand how to manually put icons in for channels but not automate it... but ignore that... yes, how do I get the programm pics and extras to come through?

In order to use images for programmes, your xmltv-source has to support the <icon> element. I’ve written a small utility (XmltvIcons) that creates the file IconDictionary.xml in the Plugins-directory, where the additional information about the icon-urls is stored. This can be done comfortably during PostUpdateEPG.

Alternatively or in combination with the IconDictionary, you can specify a path where programme-images are stored. See Configuration below for details.

Use additional resource directory:
Here you specify a path to a directory where additional programme-images are stored. The plugin will then look in this directory for an image-file when it opens the details-popup. For example, an image called “A-Team.jpeg” will be displayed when a programme with title “A-Team” is opened. Possible image extensions are .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .bmp. Invalid characters in the filenames are replaced by “ “, so if you want to add an image for the show “CSI: New York”, you should name the image-file “CSI New York.gif”, with two spaces between “CSI” and “New” (sorry, the wiki merges two spaces).

Apparently, this does not provide the necessary icon information. So, I would like to know what application I could use that will provide the icon information, or where I can find the programme-images to download and place in the "additional resource directory" that is spoken of on the wiki page at http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/TVListings

Well, there's no automated way instead of the <icon>-element in a xmltv-file to get the images for programmes. The additional icon resource directory needs to be filled manually, e.g. with http://images.google.com for your favourite shows.
