The auto deleter in gb-pvr gets rid of recordings that dont exist. But could this be changed so that insted it marks them as missing and moves them to a missing folder. That way if you have a usb hard drive and the cable falls out you dont lose all your recordings.

No, I wont be making this change.

You can disable this default behaviour though, by setting <AutoRemoveMissingRecordings>false</AutoRemoveMissingRecordings> in config.xml

I think is asked the question very badly
What im wondering is can you make it mark missing in the db and have it not show up in gb-pvr but if the file reappears it will put it back into gbpvr that way if a drive is disconnected when you reconnect it providing you have the files still on the drive. Your info will come back as well as the recording info.

So then what happens if a removeable drive is bumped and the power or usb comes loose. You lose all your recording information.

I wouldnt suggest using removeable hard drives for your recording drive, but if you are, you always have the option to set <AutoRemoveMissingRecordings>false</AutoRemoveMissingRecordings> in config.xml as I indicated above.

There is a utility on the wiki for searching and adding recordings into the database.

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/MpegImport

I use this when I do some housekeeping and move recording between drives. GBPVR deletes the old location automatically and I run the utility points to create a pointer to the new location.
Core2-E2180, 1G RAM, 1Gb-5450 Silent, 2Tb +300g HDDs.
Three tuners: Twinhan DVB-T x 1, Hauppauge Nova 500T (dual)

DTB Digital SD + HD content (PAL-MPEG2-AC3).
Custom case made very quiet. Zalman CPU cooler.
Sits in rack with other HiFi.

ParaLED to show tuner activity.
