Is it possible that GBPVR could detect the aspect ratio of the video it is streaming and adjust the display accordingly? I ended up mapping F7 to a spare key on my remote because I have to use it so often...

Regards
Dave

just use ffdshow to maintain the aspect ratio

I was under the impression that FFDshow was rather heavy on the processor - just decoding live TV mpeg streams on my 2.2 pentium mobile takes 50%-70% cpu in GB-PVR, and I start to drop the odd frame here and there when timeshifting...

only if you are using a lot of post processing filters, if you're just maintaining the aspect ratio is hardly doing anything.

That's good to know - but wouldn't installing FFDShow automatically make it the default for all sorts of other material (MPEG2, XvID etc.) in other media players? that doesn't sound too appealing...

Would be much simpler if it was built into GB-PVR, or if at least GB-PVR could remember the correct AR settings for different programs/channels

I really don't think my system needs any more codecs Wink

Would *much* rather this was built into GB-PVR.

its not a codec.

it will do what you want, why are you so afraid of it?

i doubt sub will bother adding this directly into gbpvr since ffdshow handles this.

Not afraid as such, but why rely on a 3rd party component to deliver basic functionality that should be in the box?

if you want automatic aspect ratio correction just install ffdshow, if you want to wait forever for sub to add this to gbpvr, continue to wait.
