I have had instances where I did a complete reinstall of gbpvr. When that happens i've noticed that I loose all the comskip info of my old files. When I go to play them on my MVP nothing shows up for the comskip section just one long green line with 1 second on it. If I try and skip forward the show stops and I get a black screen and nothing happens. I loose all functionality of my remote and my MVP. I have to turn the power off and on again from the remote in order to have the skin show up with the functions on it. If I just let the program play, it will play the whole program I just have to watch it in it's entirety with all the commercials. Is there a way to manuelly run comskip on previously saved MPG's so you can restore the ability to skip through the commercials again.

Thanks in advance to the forum for their responses!

Erik's page/forum for comskip has more detail on this but the general idea is:

1. Make a desktop shortcut to comskip.exe (it's in (or should be in) your gbpvr root dir.
2. drag and drop the mpg in the GBPVR folder where videos are normally made onto the shortcut.
3. Wait a little while while it does its thing. When complete you should have the txt files back.

My experience skipping only works on files dropped in the designated GBPVR folder.

or you could just type: comskip "path\yourmpegfile.mpg"
you can even have it act upon the .txt file that's already been comskipped and it will redo it..Smile
type comskip /? for help with cmdline..

Similarly to pBS's method, if you copy your comskip files into the System32 directory, you can comskip straight from the "run" box.
