Hi

New to this forum, I've been following the threads on the Hauppage WinTV PVR2 but still cannot get the thing to work. There is a lot of conflicting information and it seems most people cannot get it to work. Could somebody who has it working please post details of which drivers they are using and also a copy of the relevant section of the direct.ini file.

They have a few devices with similar names, but I assume you mean the Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2?

If so, just create a capture source, set the card type to Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2. ...but, if you have new drivers you'll have to select "Hauppauge WinTV PVR2 USB2". You'll probably need to try both, but one should work for you.

Yes it is a Hauppauge WinTV PVR2 USB2 and it works fine with the Hauppage software. I don't get far enough to select the source I get the following error message when I try and start the GBPVR config utility.

Error loading plugin list: System.Data.SQLite.SQLiteException:SQLite error no such table: CUSTOM_TASK_SETTINGS
at System.Data.SQLite. etc etc

Anyone had anything similar?

This is something else. A couple of other users also had this.

Copy the empty.db3 file to a file called gbpvr.db3 (overwritting existing file if necessary)

Thanks that sorted it, just a slight problem with a diagonal split on the picture to sort now but I suspect I'll need to play with the display setting a bit.

sounds like tearing, what video card do you have? try overlay mode, that should get rid of the tearing if its a problem with the video card.

Thanks, tried the overlay mode and worked no problem. My graphics are built into the laptop SiS M650 chipset with shared video memory. Seems a great program I just need a little time to check the best settings for me. Thanks again.

ohh, so my biggest problem with overlay is that it messes up the video color range... but youre on a laptop... so much for accurate colors anyways.:p

there are a bunch of threads to help you with calibration. you can also try avsforum http://www.avsforum.com

if youre using the laptop screen, still try to calibrate, however it will not be so perfect. and might I also suggest using a higher resolution skin (only sassari at this point), you should be able to get most applications to work with it and look acceptable with a little effort (modifying the default skin file)

glad that I could help, and good luck!
