I just came across this interesting device. ( http://wiki.neurostechnology.com/index.php/Neuros_OSD ) [Image: 3305.jpg]

The site states "The Neuros OSD is the first open source, Linux-based, embedded media center. It records video from any source and links your PC, entertainment center, and portables."
They are encouraging "hackers" with financial rewards to come up with various solutions like a Flickr browser, pda controlled music player etc.

Doesn't have a built in tuner but it does have a fully functioning USB port that might take a USB tuner? Anyway - just thought it was interesting.

I think I read about this a few months ago.
It was in the "parts stuffed in a box " stage then.

Honestly, for SDTV, if this device's composit out is as good as the composit out on my Directv Receiver then I don't see anything to worry about.

Agreed -- but the svideo out from my MVP is worlds better than the composite out (if only the svideo was reliable for me Sad )
