I'm using GBPVR 96.8 (no support for my favourite skin or plugins in the newer versions unfortunately so till then can't upgrade Sad ) and have just bought a second DVB-T tuner.

I've configured the source, scanned for channels and done the channel map. I was puzzled to see that each source seems to have its own, seperate EPG source but for now I've just loaded in the same XMLTV file.

With my original tuner connected *and also* the new tuner I can watch/record pretty much any single channel as normal. With *either* tuner connected its the same, can watch/record pretty much any single channel.

However, I am not able to watch one channel via the first tuner, and record another with the second. GBPVR gives an error message stating that there are no tuners available to watch the channel.

Are there any extra steps that I need to take to get this to work? and also how can I get the sources to use the same EPG data, I don't want to have to update both EPGs each time?

I'll try to reproduce in a mo and post some logs

Regards
Dave

Are the tuners of the same kind (that is, use the same driver)? If so, you need to make sure that the you configure one as board #1, and the other as board #2. Otherwise I'd suspect you'd get a behavior like you describe...

No, one is a hauppauge Nova-T USB, the other is a rebranded Freecom DVB-stick type thing called a Miglia TVmini.

I've just deleted and recreated all my capture settings, rescanned and remapped all the channels. Going to try again and see what I can find....

That actually did the trick - now that I've deleted and remapped all my channels, the tuners are working just fine. I can now record one channel and watch another!

Now - does anyone know, when I update my EPG data, do I have to update it for each tuner or just one?

You need to select an epg source for each capture source listed in config. Updating the epg (automatic update, or from the tray icon) will update all of them.

Actually, you don't. I found that once the channels had been tuned, I could set the other tuners to "none" for the EPG.

It seems a bit silly if they're all seeing the same channel set and tuning information to have them all updating the EPG to derive the same data.

David.
I got carried away: 3 DVB-T tuners, a DVB-S tuner, 3 MVP's and 1.1TB of storage space Smile

Thanks for the correction David.

If you have the same zap2it details set up for multiple capture sources, it'll only ask zap2it for the data once, and it'll only save it in the database once. You dont need to set it to none.
