Hi there, I'm new to GB-PVR and PVRs in general to be honest :o. I'm looking for some advice on which IR blaster would work well for my needs.

GB-PVR (latest version) running on Win2k and left over hardware from my job
AMD Athlon 1500+
1GB RAM
Radeon 7000 (real weak link in this setup - hoping to dig out a 9600pro from another system)
Hauppauge PVR250 with remote (not MCE)

This needs to control a Comcast digital cable box. I imagine any of the IR blasters will work, but I have no idea what's what with these. I'm very budget limited right now - hence the dive into GB-PVR! - so at risk of sounding a completely cheap bastard what's the cheapest IR blaster / channel changer option you would suggest? Anything I need to be wary of?

Thanks for any advice you can offer Smile

Now I know some of you guys have some great advice here, but maybe you're just to modest to come forward Wink Don't be shy! Come on down and share that wisdom!

After changing video cards from the old radeon 7000 to a radeon 9500Pro all things GB-PVR are *MUCH* better. At this point the only serious missing link in my setup is the channel changer so I can use my comcast digital cable instead of just the analog channels.

I'm using the usb-uirt and am very happy with it. Not too cheap, though. The cheapest would be to build one yourself, but then you would need to get your hands on some software (or write some yourself) to do the actual transmitting of the signals...
I'm not always right
GB-PVR 1.2.9
Accent HT-400 Case, AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 1024MB, 1TB+300GB+180GB, WinXP Pro-SP2, NVidia 7600GT
Nova-T USB2, PVR-350 recording from Dilog 355 DVB-T box, USB-UIRT (receiving & transmitting)
