Add the ability to cancel a certain episode for an entire season of the show. For instance, if I have a reoccuring recording and I have already watched a certain episode and don't wish to watch that episode again, I would like to not have that episode show up in my pending recordings for the rest of the season or forever. There is already an extension that doesn't record duplicates but if you delete an episode there is no duplicate so it will still show up in the pending recordings. I would like to have a manual way to tag an episode to not record it again until I remove that tag from the episode. This happens a lot during a season because of re-runs of a reoccuring recording.

You could just record it once and then delete it. This will keep it from coming up again.

It should already do this. When you see this specific episode get added to the list of pending recordings, just delete it and it wont be recording (or rescheduled) - its left in the database in the 'logically deleted' state.

hmmm... I seem to get multiple repeats after downloading and deleting an episode. They always seem to record again.

You posted that problem a few days ago in support, but I tried and was unable to reproduce it. Maybe you should post another thread with more details (episode times etc) and I'll take another look. It definitely seems to be working for me, so I'm starting to wonder if you're describing a problem different to what I think you were describing.

The replies in this thread have me very confused.

Unless something has changed using built in dupe avoidance.
I thought that dupes were only avoided if a recording with the unique-id exists (as an available recording) in the database. If an episode is deleted after viewing, and the show is scheduled as a season record, it will be recorded again?
And a canceled recording is only in “deleted status” until its airtime has passed. After that date, or in a different timeslot, it will be recorded again?

RecTracker is the only thing I'm aware of that will keep track of episodes so they will not be recorded a second time under any condition.

Thats correct, and is what I thought they were talking about...but after re-reading it I see the all important "for the rest of the season or forever" part of the post. Sorry, my mistake (I must stop skim reading...).

For that sort of thing, you'd need to RecTracker or something like that.

The video archive plug-in also tracks duplicates, but only by unique ID. It does not track canceled pending recordings but does track to make sure you don;t record the same episode multiple times.

No worries, I cant imagine what it’s like to scan an encyclopedia worth of posts each day trying to help people! And the only novel length posts I’ll read are my own. Big Grin

Jeff,
Absolutely love the Weather plugin and the VAPannel works great, you do such a nice job of maintaining & updating your plugins!
I guess the things I use in Xrecord do exactly what I want, so I stopped looking at everything else.
<edit>Posted a (more appropriate) request in a different thread, regarding the Xrecord issue. Smile
