I am trying to use my PC with my TV and have found that the Remote Sensor cable on my WinTV 150 is too short for the sensor to be visible. Does anybody know if there is an extension cord for these? (This model has IR receiver and emitter on one plug). Or an IR receiver/sensor with a longer cable? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

If you're not using the ir blaster end of the cable I"m pretty sure just a regular audio extension will work...

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll give it a shot. The only challenge is the 2.5mm plug on this cable. I wonder if they make extension cables like that?

I was looking at this about a year ago, and I didn't manage to find an extension cable, besides being a 2.5mm plug its also not a regular stereo jack, but has 3 connections, which makes it even harder, and because of the distance I needed I ended up buying an RF IR extender.

I believe the third connection is for the ir blaster. If you are not using that feature then a normal extension should be ok.

Well, here is what I am trying for now... I saw a link to http://www.monoprice.com in another thread and found 3.5mm to 2.5mm plug adapters (both to and from) for $1.50 each. I already have a headphone extension cable with 3.5mm plugs, so I'll try to go WinTV to adapter, extension cord, adapter and then the IR sensor. I'll post my results when I get the adapters. Worst case I am out 3 bucks, pretty limited downside....Smile

Carlito was right (Thank you!). I received my plug adapters and hooked everything up, and it works perfectly for the remote. I am not using the IR blasters, so I don't know if they are functional with this set up.

Again Carlito, thanks for the quick help!

I also wanted to mention http://www.monoview.com. I had never heard of them until this week, but I was impressed. Ordered on Tuesday, received in Georgia on Thursday despite Christmas season. 2 plug adapters, 4 rounded ATA cables for a total of $16 including shipping - not a bad deal....
