Although I like the addition of resume support, because of how I am lately using GBPVR, I am wishing it where done a little differently.

I have the 4 grandkids staying with me on holiday, and they are watching and rewatching stuff in the video library. The way resume pops up along with the video is causing them to do what kids do... fight.

If the initial menu that includes PLAY would put RESUME up top (when appropriate.. and as default) then one press and select would be the norm, without the extra pop up selection box. I know I can disable the resume pop-up... but there are times I use it.

With all the kids here, we are constantly killing the TV for family things. When they bring up say ... Rudolph again, they see the first second of the show before it freezes and asks to RESTART or RESUME.... and they all then start arguing.

Its actually not a new feature. Its been there for at least a couple of years.

Its not exactly the same as that, but you can get something close to it by setting the following in config.xml

<UseMenuResumeButton>true</UseMenuResumeButton>

Got it. Enabled Resume and now it comes up on menu instead of a pop up. It shows up on menu regardless of whether the video has ever been viewed, which is what I think you meant when you said it's almost what I was asking about.

I thought the resume feature was new this version as I enabled it after the install. With the config.xml info you gave me, my family thinks it's part of the new version, and they like it much. Thanks.

When I last tested it, it only showed up on shows that have been at least partially watched. New shows didnt show the resume menu option.

Okay, I spoke to soon. The resume stuff we ended up talking about is in the Recordings menu entry. The videos that my grandkids are watching over and over are in my Video Library.

The resume in the video library does not appear to use the settings as does the Recordings plugin does. I had taken a handful of captured and transcoded Christmas specials, cleaned them up a bit, and dropped them into my Video Library. There may be a config.xml entry that can be added to make the resume pop-up here work like the one in Recordings, but I have no idea what it would be.

This is by design. Its only a function of the Recordings screen.

Before you ask, no I wont be adding a similar thing to the Video Library (sorry).

No problem, will just turn off resume support.
