Live T.V. Aspect Ratio

GREAT Application! WinTV2000 Bye Bye. Thank you for all the effort.

I have a real quick question. How do I maintain a LiveTV aspect Ratio (skinny or fat dudes on the Screen). I'm using my NVIDIA Video Decoder(latest iteration) with a preference for VMR9 rather then Overlay.

I have the "display type" in the NVIDIA Video Decoder set to "Content default".

I've already selected Widescreen (16X9) Aspect Ratio Control under the Playback Config Tab but this seems to afford me no remedy for a skewed Live TV viewing window.

Any thoughts or suggestions on this would be most welcome.

BTW... Does VMR9 provide the best picture quality viewing or the best performance or both?

Are you on the auto aspect ratio? Press F7 a few time to make sure.

What capture card are you using? If you're using an analog Hauppauge card, they'll always report the aspect ratio as 4:3 in the MPEG2 stream the produce, regardless of the what the real aspect ratio is. If this is the case, then you'll need to press F7 to manually adjust the aspect ratio to suit.

I have the "display type" in the NVIDIA Video Decoder set to "Content default".

It should be set to anamorphic so that GB-PVR can attempt to control the aspect ratio.

This sort of thing is much more automatic if you use a digital capture device.

Thanks for replying so quickly. I'm using the Hauppauge PVR 2 USB (obviously analog). As instructed, I set the Display Type on the NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder to anamorphic and that has resolved my issue. Thanks for helping out a newbie.
