i found a kworld atsc card at tigerdirect
i have a few questions about it
1. Does it to on the card encoding or does it offload to the processor
2. Does it count as 2 tuners in gbpvr one digital and one analog
3. Has anyone used it and does it work well
4. In the future when more channels are out there in hd will it still work.

1. Digital doesn't require the encoder, as it just saves the stream. There is no hardware encoder on the analog side, so that part is not natively supported by GB-PVR. Analog side required the software recorder plug in, which I knowed worked in previous versions of GB-PVR but I haven't tested in the last couple of versions. Sub doesn't recommend it, or provide support.
2. You can create two capture devices per card (three, if you count the RCA input), but, as I recall, you can only use one input of the card at a time.
3. I have two installed and am happy with them based on the the price and local availability. They record to dvr-ms best, but if you have an excellent signal, you can record direct to mpg using the cyberlink or ATI MUX. Minor glitches in the signal can cause the MUX to hang and your recording stops though it appears to continue forever. Reboot required to recover when that happens.
4. Over The Air (OTA) channels in the ATSC format will continue to work, as stations move their line-up to digital by 2008, as currently required by Federal mandate.
