Help!
Last night I was recording a programme and stupidly switched the PC off before GBPVR had finished, even though it was just in it's 4 mins of padding after the programme.

Now I can't play the file, even though it's 1.4Gb. Is there anyway I can restore it, or tell GBPVR to finalise the file in some way?
I still have 2 temp files in the programme's folder.

Thanks,

Simon

Add your recording-dir to the list of dirs that video-library "monitors" (in gbpvr-config-directories). Then you can view the recordings through video-library.
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

if the file is unplayable through GBPVR/Windows Media Player, give VLC a try Wink

I had this happen once and VideoReDo was able to QuickFix the file. (Trim and Copy might have worked also).

The problem was that the actual file size was less than the reported size. Chkdisk might fix the problem too (or it might throw the file away if you don't save the residue).

Thank you for all your replies.

I tried viewing the file in GBPVR but when I click play it returns to the recordings menu, whereas other recordings will play as expected.

I tried opening the file in VideoRedo but it thinks the file is 1.1sec long. I tried a quickfix and nothing seemed to happen.

I downloaded VLC and the file will play but the audio is out of sync. So that's a start. I record in dvr-ms format, don't know if that's relevant?

Thanks again, I'll keep fiddling with VLC.

I tell a lie. VideoReDo did the quickstream fix. I'm now burning the file to dvd - cool!
Thanks.
