Actually Windows has been doing it right as far as I can tell, so no need to blame anyone. It has in past transitions at least, and I assume this time around is no different.

As stated by someone else in this thread, I think part of my problem (on the rare times twice a year in which I want to record something at that specific time) is the EPG and the network scheduling. The upcoming schedule had shown shows scheduled on each channel from 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 respectively. If the time jumps forward from 2 to 3, there is no real passage of time from 2-3, it makes me wonder when the networks planned on showing the shows scheduled from 2-3. As noted earlier in this thread, I recorded a show from 2-3 with 5 minutes prepadding and 60 minutes post padding. The interesting thing is that I got the LAST 5 minutes of the show which suggests that the 2-3 show must have been broadcast from 1-2. I also scheduled something from 3-4 on a different channel which recorded perfectly, probably cancelling out the post padding on the show scheduled for 2-3. To have more accurate results, I should have stayed up to see what was actually being broadcast on each of the stations.

My conclusion is that if you are planning to record something that spans the 1-3 a.m. timespan on the day of the change, use lots of pre and post padding to be sure to get the entire program you are hoping to record.

Yeah, that'd be my approach. I'd do an hour either way to be sure. Big Grin

No matter how I store dates in GB-PVR, there are dozens and dozens of different EPG source, zap2it + heaps of different of different XMLTV grabbers each getting data from different web sites etc, all with potentially their own way of listing show times around this change over time, all probably different...

Nuts!
I have automatic updates truned off on my recording server & lets just say the last weeks worth of recordings are not what I was expecting.

Oh Well.
