Hi all,
I was wondering if someone could suggest a low cost capture card that is natively supported by gbpvr?

Thanks,

define low cost.

there have been sales in the US where you can get a hauppauge PVR150 for <$50 on sale. but generally the PVR150 is the cheapest and best supported capture card for GB-PVR (IMHO)

I agreed that PVR150 or PVR500 a good for analog capture, but the new card HVR1600 is a good investment for anyone who wants to migrate to HD and want use analog capture at the same time.

Dell currently have a good price on this HVR1600.

Your location would be useful. For example if you're in the UK than a nova-t might be a good option.

I bought a Emuzed MAUI III card off Ebay for US$18 + US$5 shipping. The guy was buying old gateway media pc's at school auctions and parting them out. I'm pretty happy with the card - the only thing is a 1/8" grey band that runs along top of the picture, but as a cheap, hardware encoded 3rd tuner, it's been great! Big Grin

Anyway, food for thought. I'm something of a tightwad, so I always check out auctions, craigslist, or local newsgroups before buying retail. Just be sure of what you want before you go looking. For instance, if you wanna go really cheap you could get a software-based card, but it may cause you pain and agony in lost cpu cycles or configuration time. My first card was a software card and I'll never buy another one - It's fine sitting in my test machine, though.

Probably the best compromise of price/performance/quality is a PVR150MCE (I have 2) but these are usually OEM white box and don't come with a remote or IR Blaster. These can generally be had in the US$50 range.
