I was thinking of adding a 2nd computer and would like a Core2Duo machine.

Could someone advise me here? Options:
1) Core2Duo mb - use current drive (Win2K already installed)
how would I do this? Can I just take out the drive from the current computer and install it in a new computer? Or what would need to be done?

2) Core2Duo mb - buy new drive and install XP (I have XP). This would require a lot of new hardware and maybe this is the best method if I want a core 2 duo computer? I'd need a video board, capture card (tv tuner), memory etc. etc.

3) Keep current AMD X2 computer and buy a cheaper mb (amd or intel?) and take current drive out and put it in there. Current drive is 120 GB. I would buy a bigger storage drive for the current computer. This is the cheapest method.

Current computer is AMD X2 CPU, ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe, ATI X300SE video card... would buy HDTV tuner card (either HVR 1600 or ATI Theater Pro 650)

Is my current computer sufficient for gbpvr if I want to use a HD tv tuner card and a HD set top box in the future? Or would a core2duo computer provide a better system and be 'more ready' for upgrades in tv technology and pvr?

Even if I keep the current computer as my pvr system (no pvr software is installed as of yet and I'm using Win2K), I'd probably get a tuner card and 400 or 500 GB HD.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Edit: Can I re-post this to the 'Hardware' section or have the post moved? It's probably more related there anyway, right? No one is replying and I'm really curious about it. Also, I cannot decide whether to invest in a core2duo machine or just buy a more 'affordable' machine and take my harddrive out of the current computer and have it placed in a new computer. I know I want a large storage drive for pvr recordings, though.
