Hello!

I have a Kworld ATSC 115 (Fry's had it for $30 after rebate). It is very similar to the 110. The TotalMedia3 software that comes with it is able to tune some of the QAM channels (others are audio only), and the channel scan often cores the software. I'm having trouble setting GB-PVR up to scan for the unencrypted QAM that I get over cable. Can someone point me to a tutorial/guide for this (sorry, I'm kindof a newbie as far as this is concerned).

My system is a 2.8 GHz Pentium 4 (ASUS P4P800E) with a GeForce FX5900 Ultra video, running Windows XP Pro (SP2).

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Sorry, you wont get unencrypted QAM with this device with GB-PVR. There are no standards for how these manufacturers implement QAM tuning, so KWorld would need to supply info on how to do it for their device (they havnt).

GB-PVR will only do unencrypted QAM with the HDHomeRun or the OnAir GT devices.

At $30 (well not really considering KWorld's reputation for rebates), it was very hard to resist that Fry's deal. Since the QAM seems to be on the analog tuner that doesn't have a supported hardware mpeg encoder, I was certain that GB-PVR wouldn't support that feature. I already own two ATSC-110 cards, so knew what to expect. Still... an excellent price for an ATSC OTA tuner.

Thanks for the input. I saw that a few people had 110's and wondered in there was some support for Kworld tuners. I guess I'll have to hope that newer drivers/software patches will be forthcoming to allow me to tune the full range of unencrypted QAM that is available.

Thanks again!
