Never in all of history has an industry been so slow to adapt business models to customer demands... its laughable!

Although, i hope once HD-DVD/Blueray becomes the norm, downloadable SD-DVD quality downloads must surely become more prolific and affordable. The pirates will move on to cracking these new disks, the studios will focus on these new increased revenue earners and their protection, and the less fussy among us will settle for affordable films with realistic download times at 'discount' prices?

Probably never happen though, given the way studios have handled things so far!

it's totally unbelievable isn't it?

FWIW, I just opened a complaint with them (the only option provided for me to make a comment on this new super service) where I suggested that they are "having a laugh". We'll see.....

One thing that does make me sick, a friend recently started working for Virgin Media (NTL) in their call centre.

He gets a V+ box (160GB Sky plus like box with three tuners!!) and 20Mb/s cable internet for £15 a month! We would pay £90 per month for the same package.

It made the thought of a call centre job seem almost bearable!
